DEFINITION

This field identifies the receiver or deliverer of securities.

NETWORK VALIDATED RULES

The BIC/BEI must be a SWIFT registered address, either connected or non-connected (Error code(s): T27, T28, T29, T45).

BIC specifies the Bank Identifier Code. BEI specifies the Business Entity Identifier.

USAGE RULES

This field identifies the receiver of securities, ie, where the Sender wishes to receive the securities, when this message is a request to borrow, ie, field 23 contains BORROW, or a notice of recall, ie, field 23 contains RECALL.

This field identifies the deliverer of securities, ie, from where the securities are to be delivered, when the message is a return notification, ie, field 23 contains RETURN.

This field must be present if field 23 contains the Function BORROW and Code is absent, and a direct account relationship between the Sender and the Receiver does not exist or exists but is not to be used.
