DEFINITION

This field contains all the information from the code line, ie, the encoded line generally located at the bottom of the cheque which in most cases can be read optically or magnetically, of the original cheque.

USAGE RULES

This field can be subdivided into its different parts with option G using an index to separate them, or it can be completely unstructured, untreated and unaltered using option F.

It may contain any character defined in the 'z' character set. The 'z' character set contains the characters of both the 'x' and 'y' character set extended with the characters '@' and '#':

Cr Lf Space

It is highly recommended to take great care when using the character string 'CrLf', since these characters are used by the network to indicate an end of field or subfield. Since option F only has 4 subfields, five 'CrLf' in the code line would cause a NAK by the network. Also, within option G, after a 'CrLf', a number and a slash are expected.
